Welcome to my website. I offer a full range of yoga classes. Classical Hatha Yoga for all levels late evening and morning; gentle daytime Hatha Yoga; Pregnancy Yoga and Postnatal Mother & Baby classes. Yoga from the womb to old age.

I am passionate about Yoga, Vedic Astrology and TaiChi. I love teaching and sharing this ancient knowledge.

After nine years of teaching in London: at the Sivananda Yoga Centre, Satyananda Yoga Centre, Virgin Active & Yogahaven Clapham, Kings College Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital and Brockwell Lido in Herne Hill, I am now teaching solely from my dedicated yoga studio in HOVE, BN3 6XF.

Yoga is suitable for each and every body regardless of age, shape, size and levels of flexibility and fitness. It is therapeutic for mind and body. I teach classical yoga which nowadays is more commonly known as Hatha Yoga. A complete system that improves and develops every aspect of our lives comprising exercise (asana) breathing techniques (pranayama) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra).

Over 2500 mums have attended my classes Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth Preparation plus Postnatal Yoga for Mothers with their Babies. Life-long friendships have also been born in these classes.

Sue’s Personal Journey with Yoga

I was always a sporty type but not very flexible. Aged 48 my back went ‘ping’. It was time to listen to my body and off I went to my first Yoga class. There I discovered my stomach muscles were useless (the result of three pregnancies) so the back unsupported. Regular yoga exercises soon sorted the back. I was hooked. My journey with Yoga was just beginning.

Over the years I’ve experienced a variety of Yoga styles but especially loved the peace and calm experienced during and after Hatha classes when the breath integrates with the body and mind. Going deeper and deeper in the classic postures has brought flexibility and strength to my body. Now in my late sixties, my body is enjoying good health, vitality and energy! Through the breath, relaxation and meditation I am tapping into an inner world of understanding and purpose. Life is fun.

I have been blessed with three wonderful sons even though getting pregnant was not straightforward. After the first natural conception, I experienced an ectopic pregnancy, more surgery, IVF and then a second natural conception!

My biggest shock and tragedy was in 2000 when my youngest son aged fourteen unexpectedly left his body. Yoga, it’s philosophy (vedanta) vedic astrology (jyotish) and long walks (nature) revealed knowledge and experiences which guided me through the aftermath of grief and emotional turmoil.

People tell me I am ‘strong’ but I have simply adopted a yogic lifestyle and found inner peace. To see my students relaxed and recharged at the end of a Yoga class is deeply humbling and rewarding.

Now I am blessed with two daughters-in-law and three gorgeous grandchildren. It is thanks to Isla, the eldest, that I was drawn to specialise in Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga. I am grateful to all my wonderful students, past and present, for all that I learn from you, for me to share with others, together with the knowledge that is yoga.
